The First Steps
For 34 years, I had never done an insurance claim, so working with insurance companies in this capacity was new to me.
The first action item is to help your customer learn about all the coverage they have, and there are many. It was amazing to find out how many people don’t know how much coverage or what is covered under their policy, even after talking with their adjuster. Right off the bat we would have each customer email a list of questions to their adjuster.
Their adjuster is not their insurance agent, it should be noted, it is the initial representative of the insurance company assigned to their case that needs to receive these questions.
